Vilcanota Project
ECOAN's longest-running project, aimed at Polylepis forests in the Vilcanta Mountains. Target species include Royal Cinclodes, White-browed Tit-Spinetail and Ash-browed Tit-Tyrant. Reforestation is a major component of the project.

 

North Peru Project
A broad initiative aimed at birds of the Maraņon and Mayo drainages, including the Marvelous Spatuletail, Long-whiskered Owlet and Ochre-fronted Antpitta. Land acquisition and habitat restoration and among the main activities.

 

 

Lucre-Huacarpay Wetlands
Reforestation and community outreach at this recently-declared RAMSAR site near Cusco city.

 




Central Peru Project
Our latest initiative, currently focussed on protecting Peru's rarest bird, the Junin Grebe, and formulating a new plan for conservation in the Carpish Mountains.

 

Neotropical Migrants
A tri-national program of migration monitoring and conservation in the Tropical Andes.
