| The mountainous forests of the oriental slope of Peru are one of the most important and fragile zones, where endemic species have been reported so much of flora as fauna, the National Park Tingo Maria, it is one of the natural protected areas, which presents a great variety of species, besides the chain of caves that she presents it is there that arises the idea of the extension of the park for a major protection of the local biodiversity, beside protecting the top part of Tingo Maria's hydrographic basins, water source for Leoncio Prado's city, in addition there is looked the way of protecting the forest of Carpish's mist, where there are endemic species and where even there are new species for the science. In this forest the principal threat is the loss of species principally for expansion of the agricultural and cattle border. Likewise one sees the conformation of Areas of Private Conservation, in Umari's district, to protect the forests of the community of San Marcos and of Picahuay's hamlet. |
